What is this?
Enjoy a Sunday afternoon tour of the Edgemoor neighborhood conducted by Fred Berner, whose book, “Old Edgemoor – The Heart of Bethesda,” has recently been published. Learn how 28-year-old Walter Tuckerman toured the Denton farm with mentors and friends in 1909 and persuaded them to transform it into beautiful “Edgewood.” View most of the oldest Edgemoor homes, built between 1912 and 1918, and learn of their architecture, architects, and families. Learn about the trolley that ran through Old Edgemoor.
Friends welcome. The tour will originate on the northwest corner of Edgemoor Lane and Exeter Road. Tour will be cancelled in event of rain.
The book is available for purchase at the Edgemoor House & Garden Tour and at Politics & Prose bookstore.
