Jim Resnick, Program Manager for Senior Outreach and Education for the Montgomery County Maryland Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS), will talk about how to comply with the new law requiring sealed smoke alarms and answer questions.

In this part-time capacity, Jim has provided educational presentations to more than 12,000 Montgomery County seniors that have chosen to continue to live independently.  Jim has also done more than 1,000 home safety checks, and lead groups of firefighters and others that have done thousands more.

He started his interest in this type of program when he served on the development team for Safety in Our Neighborhood, an award-winning residential outreach program of the MCFRS.

Jim is also an active volunteer with the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad and a retired Montgomery County firefighter and paramedic.  He is very happy to have been invited to come out to the Bethesda Metro Area Village to speak about proper, working smoke alarms and other life-saving measures.
