What is this?
Every school kid learns about the Vikings who savaged the coasts of France and England, and reached North America, but what about Vikings in the Mediterranean and Russia? Jerry Zarr is a freelance writer, lecturer, and consultant on international development. As a senior diplomat in the U.S. Foreign Service, he lived in Pakistan, Tunisia, Ghana, Egypt, Haiti, and Bulgaria. Since retiring from the Foreign Service in 1995, he has worked as an international consultant in Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean. As an enrichment lecturer for various cruise lines, he speaks on historical and cultural topics. Open to the public.
