What is this?
Join us via zoom for the story of two works at the National Gallery of Art and their Dutch forger, Han van Meegeren, who was tried as a Nazi collaborator after World War II. Van Meegeren was charged with selling a priceless Vermeer to Herman Göring, but he confessed that he had painted the work himself and should be treated as a hero for hoodwinking the Nazis. Art historian Barbara Evans returns to BMAV to give this fascinating presentation to village friends and neighbors. RSVP for zoom login.
